Ashok Kumar Saroj is thirty eight years old, and is the son of the late . Khettal Saroj. He lives in Rajapur No.1, Mariyahu in Jaunpur district of eastern Uttar Pradesh in India. He is a labourer and his wife washes dishes to supplement the family income. They have three children, Moni, Gudiya and Golu.

Despite his relative youth, Ashok Kumar Saroj suffers from hypertension, and has been under treatment at the JSM Clinic since September 2011. With proper medication and counselling,  he is now able to lead a normal life.

Jaiprakash Yadav suffers from diabetes, and has been under treatment at the JSM Clinic since July 2010. He has received counselling from the panel of doctors who have been attending to him, and now knows how to keep his blood sugar under control, because of which he is able to lead a normal life.

Ayasha wants to become a teacher

Eighteen year old Ayasha is studying Arts in grade 12 at the free high school for girls run by JSM Trust in Uttar Pradesh. Her father, Jameel Ahamad, is a driver, and her mother, Sameena Bano, is a housewife. She has two brothers (Taufeequ and Shakeel Ahamad) and four sisters (Sayara, Nuraisha, Mahjabi and Tanjeela), and lives in teh village of Ansaar Tola Mariyahu in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Her grandparents, Nishar Ahamad and Haseena Bano, also live with her family.

Ayashaa loves stitching and tailoring, and her dream is to become a teacher and ignite young minds, the way her own has been ignited by some of the good teachers she has had.

Arati wants to be a role model for her sisters

Fifteen year old Arati Modanwal is studying Arts in grade 12 at the free high school for girls run by JSM Trust. She lives with her parents, Anil and Aneeta, in the village of Mishrana Mohalla, Mriyahu in Jaunapur district of Uttar Pradesh.  She has one brother, Harsh, and four sisters, Bharati, Nisha, Vaishali and Jigyasha. Her father runs a small business of his own.

Arati loves reading, and after graduating from high school, wants to go to college, and then try to join the Civil Services, so she can bring about a change in the community.

Thank you for enabling Arati to continue dreaming of a future different from that of the other women in her family.

Anuradha loves trying out new recipes

Anuradha Rai is studying Arts in grade 12 at the high school for girls run by JSM Trust. Anuradha is nearly seventeen and lives with her parents (Mahendr Krishan Rai and Rita Rai), brother (Shivam) and three sisters (Nidhi, Aupama and Savit) in the village of Gaora Belawa in Janupur district of Uttar Pradesh. Her father is an animal doctor.

Anuradha is a good student, and her favorite hobby is reading cookery books, and trying out new recipes. She does not have any professional aspirations, and wants to get married and start a family. Her education will stand her in good stead, as she grooms the next generation of empowered women.

Mahendra has hope of a better future

Dear Tracy,

Mahendra Gautam is only 40 years old, but looks many years older than he is, because of the toll that an attack of Tuberculosis has taken on him.  He hails from the village of Lorika Jamalpur, in the Jaunpur district, of eastern Uttar Pradesh.  His father, Munnar Gautam, died of Tuberculosis.

Mahendra and his wife are both laborers working with road construction projects.  They break stones that are used under the pavement.  They have 6 children. Mahendra started receiving treatment for Tuberculosis at the JSM Clinic from December 2009.  He has shown steady improvement ever since.

Your generous donation, Tracy, will provide Mahendra with much needed medications for a period of 12 months.  He is appreciative and thankful to you for that.
